Fall Fun for the Whole Family: October Events in Woodstock

fall events in WoodstockWoodstock is one of north Atlanta’s most vibrant communities, home to a wonderful array of family-friendly attractions and activities. Here at The Premier Group, we’re glad to be in the midst of it all in downtown Woodstock! Below, take a look at some of the fun things to do in Woodstock this October, and be sure to follow us on Facebook for more local news and events!

  • Friday Night Live– Kick off the month with a downtown-wide festival from 6-9 pm on Friday, October 3rd! October’s theme is, fittingly, Oktoberfest. There will be fun, family-friendly activities, live music, and a $100 Downtown Gift Certificate Giveaway.
  • Dog Swim at OASIS There are lots of events for the human citizens of Woodstock and Cherokee County, but this one is going to the dogs! The Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency is hosting the first annual Dog Swim at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center OASIS pool on Sunday, October 5th from noon to 4pm. Check out the flyer (linked) for registration info, and treat your furry friend to a fun and unique experience!
  • Woodstock Farmers Market– The Woodstock Farmers Market ends October 25th, but there’s still time to get delicious locally-grown, raised, and produced foods. The market takes place every Saturday from 8:30 am to noon.
  • Parade of Scarecrows– In October, Woodstock shows its Halloween spirit with an annual tradition that’s more treat than trick- the Parade of Scarecrows! All month long, local businesses in downtown Woodstock will have their own personalized scarecrows on display. Choose your favorite and cast your vote at the Woodstock Visitors Center!
  • KidsFest– Kids and parents alike will love this FREE event at the Park at City Center from 3-7 pm on Halloween. There will be moonwalks, live entertainment (magician and juggler), apple and pumpkin bowling, face painting, music by DJ Ronnie, a costume contest, and of course a candy giveaway!
  • Movie in the Park– Follow up KidsFest with an outdoor screening of ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ on a giant inflatable screen at the Park at City Center! ┬áThese two events are the perfect fun and safe Halloween activities. Movie starts at 7 pm on Friday, October 31st.
